Registering for a Idaho IFTA license

Do you have to register for IFTA in Idaho?
If you were wondering whether or not you’re exempt, know that you must register and file for IFTA if you have:
- Any vehicle with two axles and a gross vehicle weight of over 11,797 kilograms or 26,000 pounds
- A vehicle of any weight but with three or more axles
- A vehicle that exceeds 11,797 kilograms or 26,000 pounds

How to register for an IFTA license in Idaho
Idaho recommends that you complete your application and pay your licensing fees online. You can also complete and submit the Form IMC-2 by mail or in person.
Cost of the Idaho IFTA license
Idaho charges a $10 as a new application fee and each set of decals cost $0.60 per set. One set fo decals is required for each qualified motor vehicle. The annual renewal fee is $5 as well as $0.60 for each set of decals.
Filing your quarterly IFTA return
As an IFTA member, you must complete and file an IFTA tax return every 3 months.
To file your IFTA return, you need to submit Form 3150 with the state of Idaho must be submitted per below:
Q1: January, February, March –> Due: April 30
Q2: April, May, June –> Due: July 31
Q3: July, August, September –> Due: October 31
Q4: October, November, December –> Due: January 31st
Renewing your IFTA license in Idaho

Watch out for these penalties
There is a late penalty of $50 or 10% of the net tax liability, whichever is greater. Interest is computed on all delinquent taxes dues each jurisdiction at a rate of .4167% per month.
