Cost & Fees

There is a $62.75 annual fee for a IFTA license per company.

In addition, there is a $12.70 fee per-pair for IFTA decals. You will need one pair for each qualified motor vehicle you operate in IFTA jurisdictions.

A penalty of $50 or 10% of the unpaid taxes, whichever is greater will be imposed on anybody guilty of the following infractions:

  • failure to file fuel tax returns regarding the fuel used for travelling through all jurisdictions that are members under the Agreement;
  • failure to file returns by the prescribed deadline;
  • failure to pay the balance of tax due in full.

Québec IFTA License Renewal

A renewal application must be completed annually. Your IFTA license and decals will expire on December 31, and you should submit your IFTA license renewal application before November 30th to avoid delays or penalties.

You will have until March 1 of each year to carry a current IFTA license and display the current year's decals on your vehicles, provided you have applied on time to renew your IFTA license and your account is in good standing.
